Women for Peace

I went to a celebration of Women for Peace last evening and was honored to read a brief biography of the Nobel Peace prize winner of 1946, Emily Green Balch.

The piece that most inspired me is that besides all the great work she did as a young women, in 1955 at the age of 88 she was concerned about the widening gulf betwen the United States and China and wrote the People of China a love letter. This is the last stanza:

"Let us be patient with one another,
And even patient with ourselves.
We have a long, long way to go.
So let us hasten along the road,
The road of human tenderness and generosity.
Groping, we may find one another's hands in the dark"

I found this so touching and it reminded me that peace, love and making a difference are ageless and timeless.

Do what you can right now in this moment to connect to peace.
